I thread on all Covid-19 donations and how much control the FG have over those funds.

So far, there are 5 donation efforts towards Nigeria's fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic
1. Fonations of materials particularly from the ones that came from Jack Ma, the Chinese billionaire and that has adequately been distributed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
2. Is the one being driven by the Central Bank and the corporate organisations, jointly being handled by the governor of the Central Bank and Alhaji Aliko Dangote. They have a funding committee, they have an operation committee and they have a technical committee...
They committes will run, fund, execute projects, buy equipment all in furtherance of fighting coronavirus. At the end of the exercise, they will appoint an accounting firm that will take an audit of their exercise and make a report to the donors for the purposes of accountability
3. The 3rd effort is the one initiated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) which involves the upstream, the middle stream and the downstream levels of the oil and gas industry.

“They (NNPC) will ask for locations, list of equipment, will supply them...
..., they will raise their funds, they will administer their funds, and at the end of the day, they will render accounts to the people that have donated to this particular enterprise. Government does not have control of this particular endeavour.
4. The 4th is the one being driven by the United Nations family, and they are also raising funds from their own donor agencies and partners. Like 2 and 3, they control the fund and spending on project approved and they give a report to the donors
5. The 5th is the FG allocated funds for the Covid-19. That fund is totally controlled by the FG via the office of the Accountant-General. This is the funds Presidential taskforce can access for their various projects
