For this #tbt here's a look at how my work evolved over the first few years of when I became serious about pursuing art as a profession. From 2009 (I was 31): A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick.
2010: portrait of @DAVID_LYNCH - printing ink, wax paper, collage.
2011: portrait of @nickcave and @warrenellis13 - printing ink on gessoed board.
2012 - portrait of @elonmusk - printing ink on gessoed board/digital.
2013 - THE DYING EARTH by Jack Vance. Printing ink/digital.
2014 - DOPPEL by @LindsaySmithDC for @tordotcom - printing ink/acrylic/digital
So many young artists/art students seem to feel pressured to have a defining style right away - but you don't have to. You find your voice through making your work, over hopefully years and years. Dive in, make stuff, have fun.
