As men, we live in dangerous times. The term "man" has been belabored within an inch of its frail existence. Most of us, through fate or chance, found ourselves relying on women for fatherhood. Which is welcome & appreciated, but inevitably misinforms manliness. Who is a man?
1. A man has an identity.

He knows who he is, makes peace with himself & capitalizes on that knowledge to change his & his dear ones' lives. Identity affords him individuality. It instills confidence in him. Such that he need not be in a group of men, to feel manly.
2. A man has principles.

These principles, corrupted or otherwise, inform his reliability & the trust he is extended by fellow men. We live in a different world. Once in a while, you'll be forced to compromise on a principle. Make it a point to correct the error before you die
3. A man has a higher purpose.

Purpose is a goal. Something that you look forward to achieving. It defines your friendships. Purpose comes from talent, experience or education. It is your duty to find what you are good at & package it to earn you value. Good speaker, speak.
4. A man has belief

Here I will quote Henry Ford: "If you think you can, or can't, you're right". You are not proving yourself to anybody. Your life is your life, and nobody can understand it better than you do. Believe in yourself and we'll follow.
5. A man is solid

I know we say times have changed, and that it is okay to cry, but if you must cry, cry inside. Your kids look up to you for guidance. When you are afraid, they lose all hope. You must communicate hope, even when you don't believe it. That is to be a man.
6. A man is kind

There is nothing to be gained from depravity. Help an old lady walk. Take care of your parents. Greet your neighbor. It is not always easy to be kind. Most of the time we falter. But even then, your bowl of kindness should be bigger than your bowl of slips
7. Lastly, a man aims not for the admiration of fellow men, but their respect.

I never cared to be liked. I only care to be respected. Through kindness, through reliability & through enterprise. Men will hate you depending on circumstances, but their respect will remain.
