Everyone's response to the C-word (whisper it) is valid. Obvs. Should go w/o saying. Just to say that everything from feeling inexplicably motivated, creative and productive right through to barely managing to get out of bed is fine and perfectly understandable.
Saying this because there's some understandable reminders going round that we don't need to fetishize productivity or force ourselves to create. But there's a subtle implication that to feel or want to be creative in this time is somehow crass or indicative of privilege.
The latter is certainly true for a lot of people but I don't think the former is. I've been feeling pretty fruitful on the creative front most days. Some days not. I don't flaunt my creativity to be smug or to implicitly thrown down a gauntlet to other. That's just my truth.
Consider that people may be sharing their hobbies and creative projects to inspire others or simply to still feel connected to others in absence of other means of sharing work. They may also just be a smug cunt. But let's assume the best of eachother, now more than ever!
Not sure about this thred even as I keep typing. Maybe has a whiff of what-about-ery to it. I don't know! It's hard for any of us to say something that's meant to serve or soothe one group of people w/o the people who fall outside of that group feeling judged or misunderstood.
WHATEVS.
It really is okay.
We must make peace with the ideological snags of co-existing.
Nothing matters.
Maybe our aunties are right about 5G.
Might make skittles vodka or a rap EP. First track will have a guest verse from Adriene of Yoga With Adriene.
