Steph Curry's worst NBA Finals still saw him average 22.6/4.9/3.7 on 40/40/93 in a 7 game series in which his most important teammate was suspended and he lost by 4 points.
Other notable "bad" series by stars:

1984 "Tragic" Johnson: 18/7.7/13.6 and a Game 1 meltdown

2004 Kobe: 22.6/2.8/4.4 on 38/17/92. Tbf, team was doomed after winning 3, but not great.

2011 LeBron: 17.8/7.2/6.8. If he gives them *anything* the Heat win and Wade is FMVP.
The very next year, Steph went 26.8/8.0/9.4 in 37 MPG in a gentleman's sweep.

He didn't win an award because he happened to have a deserving teammate who went absolutely nuts with an iconic moment, but how many players have reached 2017 Steph level?
Outside of a handful of stars, a lot of the top guys have had poor series, but NBA Twitter wants to frame is as a uniquely Curry experience.

His numbers, accomplishments, and wins speak for themselves.
