perhaps the fact that florida is run by corrupt incompetents like ron desantis has something to do with the fact that it actively disenfranchised a huge part of its black population.

perhaps the fact that mississippi’s governor appears to be a reactionary adult baby has something to do with a state constitution which explicitly gerrymanders the governorship for a conservative white plurality, etc. etc.
