DOC says 72% of people in state prisons sleep within 6 feet of someone; 70% eat within 6 feet.

Isn't it interesting that the number of beds used is higher than BOTH the operational capacity & the design/rated capacity of the entire DOC system???

In a *legal document,* DOC wrote *to the highest MA court* it has 11,639 beds.

The latest weekly count sheet says DOC's operational capacity is 10,157.

The latest prison capacity report says DOC's design/rated capacity is 7,492.

And 7,916 people are currently locked up.

???
