Beane - I inquired about several receivers during the regular season. Some of them got traded, some of them didn't. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. But some of the recon we did on Diggs at the time we took into the offseason. #Bills
Beane - I would've had to give up more compensation to move up in the draft. Receiver has probably one of the highest fail factors in the NFL. Diggs was a proven commodity, and I felt this was us moving up in the draft and this was who we selected. #Bills
Beane - Some things that are said on the field is in the heat of the moment. Sean and I are looking for competitive guys who want to be good at their craft. Maybe Diggs' passion has gone outside the lines at points, but I believe that this will be great for him in Buffalo. #Bills
Beane - Mario Addison is definitely a proven commodity. He's a self-made man. He brings a smile and the passion to every day. He's not flashy, but when you turn on the tape, he's producing what we want out of our defensive ends. #Bills
Beane - Vernon Butler was playing behind Star Lotulelei in Carolina, and this year, after the third or fourth game, the light came on for him. Jordan Phillips was another guy who had the light come on late for him, and I wish we could have kept him. Wish him the best. #Bills
Beane on Quinton Jefferson - He brings versatility. I can see what's on film, but Dan Morgan did a great job explaining what he was on and off the field. We love position versatility, and I think that's what we got in him and Butler. #Bills
Beane - We want to reward our own. In a perfect world, you'd love to keep all your guys, but economics don't allow you to do that. Jordan Poyer was signed right before I got here and he performed. It has to be a win-win for all parties. #Bills
Beane - We will look at other contract extensions for guys like Matt Milano and Tre'Davious White when the time is right. It takes two to tango. #Bills
