Hey so it took a week for new jobless claims to double from 3mn to 6mn, and two weeks to jump totals from 700k to 10mn, but we’re not allowed to discuss an economic plan out of this because grandma killers.
The interdependency of job roles breaks down the more you take people out of the system. Grocery employees go on strike, no demand for goods means truckers have nothing to deliver and farmers' products rot.

If this looks bad now, wait until next week when we lose another 10mn.
The economy is the sum total of all human activity related to the exchange of goods and services. The economy is real life. It is you and me. Right now, it is being handicapped at the ankles. The top may be the last to fall but when it does it's going to get very ugly.
So you'll get this reverberating death cycle of no demand leading to destroyed supply then when demand rises again, the suppliers are GONE! And that's when things get even hairier.
I'm... not qualified on paper for this kind of commentary. I'm not an economist, or a behavioral scientist. Not a sociologist. But I have a deep understanding and love of human beings, individually and on the aggregate. And we are staring down a very dark path.
Anyway. What we are seeing nationwide is what has been happening to our rural manufacturing communities for decades, accelerated into what is comparably a blink of an eye. Read this thread. Our deal with the devil for cheap goods has come due.
