i’ve been dealing with anxiety while my state is prepping to be on lockdown for a month. i get anxiety when i feel trapped, so this has been really hard for me. and i imagine that i’m not the only one who feels like this. so here’s a thread of what to do when you can’t do shit:
if y’all would like to, you can add to this thread. others and i really need things to keep ourselves busy until all of this is over.
• create a daily schedule so that you can have routine and structure. a problem that we may have is lack of structure. every day begins to feel like the last. so give yourself structure so your internal clock doesn’t get off whack.
• eat fresh produce and drink enough water! both of these things increase your quality of life and give you a boost of energy so that you can fill your day with whatever you want to do. fresh produce has not gone out of stock. people are buying canned foods instead!
• you can practice yoga or meditate in your front yard. the extra sunlight and fresh area is relaxing. the negative ions in the air increase your dopamine and serotonin levels!
• that being said, go on a 30 minute walk every day. choose either morning or night. or both.
• keep in touch with your friends and family. it helps you feel less alone and isolated because you are being updated on everyone else you love! you can strengthen your relationships at this time.
• paint something. draw something. build something. create something.
• study study study! this sounds lame, but if there’s a subject you enjoy this is the perfect time to dive deeper into it. this isn’t about school, but about what you love!
• discover new music. listen to a new album per day.
• update your playlists. create a new one per day or week as a journal technique. make a playlist to outline how you feel every day instead of writing it in a book.
• focus on your manifestations. what are you trying to attract at the moment? think of ways to achieve this.
• learn a new recipe! brush up on your culinary skills and come out of this quarantine with some new signature dishes.
• learn a new language! you have no excuse to skip your duolingo lessons now. it’s just 5 minutes a day!
• make one day a week a deep pampering day where you make yourself feel your best by going all out. i’m talking walk bath, painted nails, hair done, perfume on. make one day a week special.
• masturbate. there! i said it! now what you gonna do about it? 😭😭
• deep clean your life. clean your house, car, phone, and mind. remove all that doesn’t serve you not help you when all of this is over.
• watch a new movie every night. make it into an event. pop some popcorn. get some candy. get your snacks or tea.
• finally start that blog or youtube channel. we aren’t doing anything else anyway lol. why not get some new years resolutions started?
