Read A Certain Magical Index light novel. It does have anime adaptation but in comparison to light novel, it is decent. Third season of index was the worst adaptation. Anime just skims world building, skipped some moments, some important dialogues, and the importance of Touma’s—

monologues. The best aspect of Index is world building. The power systems is so well explained. I love how esper and magic sides clash at a certain point in the story. Touma Kamijou as a mc and character is just way better in light novel. His monologues and the fact that he-

contradicts himself makes his character a lot more interesting.

Accelerator is my favorite character. He’s amazing and he realizes that what he has done is wrong and tries to protect-

Misaka Last Order’s life and her happiness. The best part is that Accelerator doesn’t suddenly change after one arc but over time. He’s best written character along with Touma Kamijou. Not only these two characters, more characters also got their own respective role in some arcs-

Tsuchimikado, Kanzaki, Misaka, Index, Stiyl, Hamazura, and way more characters for examples. They’re all good side characters in my opinion. The buildups in early arcs is crazy once you reach OT20 which it paid off. A lot of foreshadowings you can notice in light novel (I believe

anime included some of them) and some of them actually became true in the future. Give first volume a chance. The first 11 volumes is pretty lackluster compared to the rest of OT and NT. Although some early OT volumes is really good, I guarantee it’ll get better from volume 12.

Confused on what OT and NT is? OT is Old Testament which is first part of index. New Testament is second part. A certain magical index has the best power systems of all time. As I said before, it was well explained, Kamachi the author expanded it the more you read

It is pretty accurate and almost realistic. The mythology and historical moments in series is mentioned which can only be found in old books. Index actually included some legends. I hope this thread motivate some of you mutuals to read index light novel.
