I’ve seen a lot of people talking about having strange dreams. I am not a therapist, but I spent years in therapy with a huge emphasis on dream therapy because of a diagnosed sleep disorder (that included a sleep study).
My therapist would always ask how I *felt* in the dreams. Happy, scared, anxious? Obviously, there is a lot going on right now, so a ton of emotions for us to process at night. But it’s not really the content of a dream that matters, it’s how you FELT during it.
For example, you could be running around your high school naked – but were you laughing, having fun or really anxious? Also, she said people often dream about school because we spent 12+ years there during some very high-stress times and it kind of imprints on us.
For the most part, X object means Y is bunk, except for how YOU feel about something. Birth or death in a dream can be a new beginning, or a big change in your life – like we are all experiencing. Dreams help us process life into long-term memories.
