IMO, profound loss of agency like sexual assault doesn’t belong in collaborative fiction; not just without safety tools. It’s rarely handled well in other mediums. Whole different ball game with TTRPGs, where agency is different and shared. No wonder Far Verona was cancelled.

You’d think it’d make the device more effective, but really it just calls out the fiction not making sense, without causality. A Cornerstone of TTRPGs. Without that agency it’s clear the story isn’t the PCs. So why play? Just write a book with a bad device/trope. (In a nutshell)
