As April is here, so is a month dedicated to Autism. While it’s nice for people to be aware, we still must move beyond this concept on a larger, societal level. Knowing that something exists does not enact action or create change.

I decided to look up the definition of acceptance and found this:

When you accept Autism, it allows you to embrace autistic individuals. Those who blend in & those who blend out, individuals who type or point to communicate, & those who have moments of struggle. Acceptance encourages you to dig into preconceived beliefs w/o resistance.

Turning awareness into acceptance is something everyone has the ability to do. Acceptance and love towards humanity does not need words. Just your heart.
