Gannett is requiring furloughs that will effective cut the number of reporters at @IndyStar by 25% for the next 3 months. Reporters are the ones demanding information from public health officials and holding the government accountable during this crisis.
The irony is that readers are flocking to @indystar and other media outlets right now for critical information. But at the same time, advertising has fallen off dramatically because so many businesses are closed.
