Thread of my thoughts on each PM from the bottom-up
ā(S)he Who Must Not Be Named did great things ā terrible, yes, but greatā
Her belief in greed-is-good capitalism goes against everything I believe in, she purposefully destroyed entire communities, and she was an apologist for the worst dictators and war criminals (eg Pinochet)

Churchill is so low on the list because this ranking only takes into account his post-war record. Churchill spent most of his post-war period in office incapacitated to some degree due to illness and relied on his ministers (most notably Eden) to do most of the heavy lifting
David Cameron put Britain through 4 years of political turmoil to resolve an internal party issue. His government also led deliberate assaults and calculated attacks on public services, the disabled, the unemployed and migrants entirely for ideological and political reasons
Anthony Eden was of the most qualified PMs of all time. He left the office in disgrace after a short period. Heās most famous for his disastrous handling of the Suez Crisis, but he gets sympathy points from me for doing most of the work for Churchill in his post-war term
Most well known for bringing Britain into the EEC, the rest of Ted Heathās tenure is marred by industrial strife which led to the three-day week, mass power cuts and high unemployment. The miners and unions won this battle, but lost the war to Heathās successor
Most of my issues with Theresa May relate to her tenure as Home Secretary. As PM she was treated horrendously by her own party and itās hard not to feel bad for her. Her red lines in Brexit negotiations and her inability to compromise led to chaos and made her downfall inevitable
Harold Macmillanās commitment to pragmatism and the post-war consensus earns him good marks from me, but heās most well-known for having led a scandal-ridden government. A false diagnosis led to a tragic and premature end to his premiership
Alec Douglas-Home... didnāt really do much. His premiership was brief and its only real significance was handing the country to the Labour Party
James Callaghan is the only person to have held all 4 great offices of state. He was also the political enemy of my favourite politician. In my view his side of the Labour Party effectively enabled Thatcherism by failing to tackle the unions early enough
