Bogus Excuse #2: Trump was distracted by Impeachment

Wrong. Trump played no role in impeachment and the trial ended February 5. To this day, Trump has done virtually nothing to combat or contain COVID-19 and Trump himself admitted his impeachment had no effect on his response.

Bogus Excuse #3: Trump didn’t know until April 1 that the virus can be spread by asymptomatic people or by breathing

Wrong.

Jan 27- Germany reports first known case of asymptomatic spread

March 5- Germany reports study results showing COVID-19 can be spread by simple breathing

Bogus Excuse #4: Trump banned travel from China and Dems called him a racist

Wrong. Trump banned foreigners who had spent time in from traveling to on 1/31, but didn’t ban citizens from such travel. Trump was called a xenophobe because ban only applied to foreigners.

Bogus Excuse #5: WHO tweeted January 14 no proof coronavirus was human-transmissible

True, but this was corrected early and does not excuse Trump’s inaction.

Jan 30- CDC confirms human-to-human transmission had already occurred *in the US*
