Well, I didn’t expect to be in hospital waiting to see if 13yo needs appendectomy. But here we are.
Chatting to one of the nurses. Asked ‘so how are you all doing?’ Fine,’ she said. ‘It’s certainly brought out the best in people and the worst in people.’

My lovely girl does indeed need to get rid of her appendix. Due to Covid she needs open surgery rather than laparoscopy. I’m not going to lie. I wish we weren’t here but so grateful to wonderful NHS who are amazing.

I’m not someone who usually shares stuff like this. But op was scheduled for 5. Doc just appeared and said due to Covid/op risk they will try intravenous antibiotics first. Obviously I hope that works but if it doesn’t then a routine op clearly not so routine. Rollercoaster.
