Here& #39;s a handy hint for those working at home for the first time. When i stopped working in Oxford to be home-based (Walsall), to recreate the experience of the transition from home to work I sat in a cardboard box for 2.5 hours before beginning my day. For fuck& #39;s sake.
Oh and also because a routine is so important, every day before starting work i put my pyjamas on.
Really, is anyone else getting slightly worn down by all the advice by all the people telling us about how they& #39;re maintaining a positive attitude by adhering to the pointless things we used to do in f2f jobs?
I worked at home when i was an educational consultant for about 10 years on and off and I did just fine climbing out of bed after a couple of coffees, walking to my sofa and just working. Making a bigger deal of it than it is, is just making it all more stressful for all of us.
We don& #39;t really need to hear how effectively you& #39;re working in this new climate. Take it from someone who& #39;s been doing this for a long time, you& #39;ll do perfectly well enough just muddling on through.
