So I’ve been in lockdown in Joburg where my mom and I have been looking after my uncle who’s ill. I selfishly felt like it couldn’t have come at worse time because I had already taken so much time off from TaylaMadeFood after my accident.
How was I going to post now? No Wifi? No mini studio set up? No props? Not to mention what a mission it is to get ingredients!
I then decided that I needed to get back, no matter what. Sunday’s post (lamb curry & naan) was a stretch for me because I knew it wouldn’t match the aesthetic of the page but I needed to post, so I did.
My cousin had also bought me some new crockery which she was going to courier to me but since I was here I could use them.
I also happened to see one of @Luyanda_Maf’s tweets where she showed how she uses an ordinary tile to shoot her content and I thought how dope 🤯 (I have this HUGE ass set up home that’s not very functional)
I found a whole lot of broken tiles in my grans yard, washed them and left them on the stoep to dry. And when the cookies came out as well as they did, I just knew I had to try out Luyanda’s tile method, so I did.
I present to you the results :
And I got my mom to help me out:
What this has taught me is that I need to stop making excuses and just get on with it aaaaand my best work always comes from me challenging myself ❤️
My bad, I shoot everything with either iPhone XS Max or 11 Pro Max and use VSCO presets 🧡
