Ghana Rap Music has only two legit timelines.

Before Gimme Blow and After Gimme Blow.

Asem and Richie managed to find the perfect balance between rap music that was super close to the American one but still had enough authenticity to appeal to locals. That changed everything.
Before Gimme Blow dropped ... The clubs were playing Ofori Amponsah. Just so you understand the drastic turn things took.
One night in Bantama, MTN were doing a street jam around Miami Pub area and A Plus was about to come on stage. The DJ at Asare O (at the extreme end) dropped Gimme Blow and the whole crowd moved like zombies to Asare O. They played Gimme Blow 10 times in a row and we all sang it.
Sarkodie took it to a whole other level and Skillions/ New Generation diversified it. But Asem and Richie were the tipping point.
Hammer did his thing and had balance. But he didn't dominate radio the way Richie did after Gimme Blow. Even Hammer hopped unto that new wave and made some absolute bangers. Hammer lived through Jay Q, Appietus and Morris eras never switching his style. But he did after Richie.
Same argument can be made for Sarkodie's U Go Kill Me and recent afrobeats. But I'm not well informed enough to state my opinion. All I know is, that song changed the sound and sparked a movement which has evolved into what we have today.
