@NGRPresident respectfully, this ‘stay at home’ edict was poorly thought out and executed, especially when taking into account that the majority of our country’s citizens are wallowing below the poverty line.
With restricted movement, how will the majority earn a living to feed their families? Proper coordination with government authorities in Lagos @followlasg Ogun @OGSG_Official and FCT should have been carried out prior to issuing the edict.
The sudden imposition of the edict gave the majority whom have virtually next to nothing in savings, no time at all to prepare. Also, applying a zonal formula in each state and FCT with strict time limited hours of movement should have been applied per zone.
Each zone should be equipped with adequate health and safety measures along with security and health officers in place to ensure screening and strict adherence to time restrictions so that the virus is not contracted nor spread.
With the billions of naira received over the past few days by way of donation from government parastatals, private organizations and HNIs, food banks should then be established per zone to help our people with essential staples to mitigate against hunger and starvation.
Action must be taken now and leadership demonstrated. I will end this thread with the timeless classic and prophetic words of Bob Marley and the Wailers.
