Globally, the reported number of confirmed cases will reach the worrying one million milestone today...
... abetted by the fact that the US is reporting an increasing number of new cases every day; 76,842 were added in the last 24 hours...
And yesterday, the world – again – hit a new record of the most deaths in 24 hours...
Today, we will exceed 50,000 deaths related to COVID-19 globally...
In Italy, New Confirmed Cases jumped, hopefully this is only due to a lag in reporting...
Spain will most likely have more cases than Italy by Saturday and become the second-most infected country behind the US...
And now that they have 4,947 confirmed cases, Sweden is finally implementing a lockdown; their “do nothing” approach didn’t work...
... and they have more deaths than Norway and Denmark combined...
Here is the breakdown of deaths by country in Europe...
The curve has caught up with our model. If the curve holds, we have only a few days remaining before we should see the peak in Europe...
For the second consecutive day, the US added more than 24,000 new confirmed cases...
They will be above 300,000 confirmed cases by Monday...
And also for the first time, there were more than 1,000 deaths in a single day related to COVID-19 in the US...
With this level of growth, we can expect to see 10,000 total deaths within a few days...
There are now 37 states with more than 500 confirmed cases...
In New York, there are now more than 80,000 confirmed cases; they will pass the 100,000 mark in the next four days...
Here is our updated New York model...
Florida’s Governor finally ordered a state-wide lockdown, with 7,773 confirmed cases already reported...
And so I have applied our model to try and anticipate the spread of the contagion in Florida...

Reminder: Our model is based on Hubei’s daily growth, and is applicable once lockdown is in place and there are more than 5,000 confirmed cases...
So far, the death count in Florida is low, with 101 deaths related to COVID-19...
But based on the following model, we can expect a total of 6,897 deaths in Florida...

In the last 24 hours, both Brazil and India have reported the most new cases in a single day within their respective country...
