A thought just came to mind.

Many of us Christians have heard the saying, “with Christ at the centre of your marriage it will succeed” but many none believers have fulfilling marriages and relationships.

I say that to say this, Christ represents salvation from sin, every other thing is secondary. We don’t seek him for things (because it rains on both the unjust and just) we seek him for life.

You can have a fantastic career, a fantastic marriage, great kids etc etc all outside of Christ and all these things are perishable. It’s not about “the now”, it’s about the after.

That’s why selling Christ will never work. You don’t need Christ to have the best things in life but you need him for salvation. That is the mystery.

I still think though that Christ is the biggest motivator.

Especially if you believe that all morality stems from him. He who was there before the foundations of the world.
