Spend time with your children daily to teach them traffic regulations during this lockdown. Basic ones, hygienic ones, safety. It allows you to impart much needed lessons to a future gen. Will also help you brush up your knowledge. Here are 6 imp lessons.
Spend time with your children daily to teach them traffic regulations during this lockdown. Basic ones, hygienic ones, safety. It allows you to impart much needed lessons to a future gen. Will also help you brush up your knowledge. Here are 6 imp lessons.
1. Look both ways before crossing the street. Make kids understand which way traffic flows, then to look in that direction. Don't be that mentally blind person who just steps out to cross the road, showing a palm, assuming it will bring traffic to a standstill!
2. Teach kids about traffic lights, what each colour stands for. Make it a fun game when you finally get out on the street.. Ask them to guess what light will glow next, or what does the light mean. Do this repeatedly. The next time they will remind you if you break a light.
3. Make them aware of their surroundings. Teach them to recognise engine sounds, honking, reversing horns. Kids are oblivious to the outside world when they're playing in society parking areas or even on streets, teach them to focus on their surrounding to stay safe.
4. Sidewalks and their importance. These were built for the public to walk safely, also for kids. Teach them to use sidewalks everytime they exit your home. It will also remind you to use the sidewalk rather than jaywalk on the streets.
5. Do not run to climb their school bus. So often I've seen my own child do this with every other kid jostling to enter the bus first. It's scary, teach them the value of forming a queue to get into the bus. It will go a long way.
