I've deleted my previous tweet sending love to the #autism community on #WorldAutismAwarenessDay during #CoronaLockdown after feedback from autistic people objecting to the phrase 'person with autism'. Noted and acknowledging again that 18 years in as a carer I am still learning.

For those now asking, it's an issue of identity-first language rather than placing autism as something that sits alongside. My adult daughter has never minded either so this is new to me too but I totally get it now @his_materials raised it with me. Just found the following too>
