Giving mortgage holidays to land owners & telling banks to lend money to people to cover daily costs, including rent, is a disgusting transfer of wealth from poor to rich, landless to land owners. Asking workers to take on debt to maintain the wealth of the least deserving.
"The landlord who happens to own a plot of land on the outskirts of a great city … watches the busy population around him making the city larger, richer, more convenient. .. and all the while sits and does nothing"

Winston Churchill
And when the crisis is over, the workers, poorest in society, will be in debt, paying for the cost of this economic meltdown, while landlords gorge on their unearned wealth, profiting from other's misery.

Time for a serious discussion about #LVT funding Universal Basic Income.
Land ownership... Landlordism... It's like a religion in the UK. You can't criticise it, you can't talk against it. It must be protected at all costs. Pointing out it is responsible for this crisis is met with anguish like you pointed out a religion is responsible for child abuse
What I find most worrying is that young people don't even seem to question it. The look up to the boomers, they want the same unearned wealth that their parents enjoyed. It is a religion. And like during all other crisis before it it will be protected at all costs.
Here's an idea... Give a 3 month rent break for all tenants. Tell banks that they should consider lending money short term to landlords to pay their mortgage?

Oh, don't like that idea? Why? Why is it different?

LVT now. Smash landlordism.
