Ok so I just want to check I've got this straight and we all watched the same doc
- Doc Antle's entire thing is running a cult to prey on and sexually exploit teenage girls
- Joe Exotic modelled himself on this and married at least 3 teenagers by offering them drugs and tigers
- Whether or not Carole Baskin killed her husband, Joe undertook a multi-decade campaign against her because...why? Did he have any meaningful connection to the case other than tiger rivalry? Obviously after the court case, but she BROUGHT the case because of the harassment.
- the people sayingí Carole killed her husband are exclusively people with preexisting beef
- that being said her husband for sure was a bastard from the point she said they met when he drove up alongside a crying 19yo with a gun in his front seat and told her to get in the car
I'm not saying she didn't kill her husband, but I am saying it's fucking weird that the circumstantial evidence for that seems to be outweighing the massive sexual and physical abuse and attempted murders that people freely admit to in this hogwild series
"Carole Baskin killed her husband Joe Exotic is innocent" how about those two things don't have a lot to do with each other bc he still did everything he was accused of and more?
Btw Carole Baskin is also pretty shit and it's very clear that her rescue centre is exactly the same money-making exercise as any other private zoo, every single person in this series is the woooorst except some of the park employees.
I do have one point of confusion though which is that early in the series John says he was kicked out by his dad for being gay, but then by halfway through he's always been straight? It would help if it was explicit when in the timeline each of the interviews was shot.
Anyway I legit hate true crime and the speculation around it but somehow I got sucked in and invested just because of how batshit the whole thing is. but let's quarantine the Tiger King nonsense to this thread and I'll never speak of this again.
