As the Covid-19 virus rages across the world and trickles into southeast Nigeria, we must look at the ways that we as an entirety can adapt and survive the pandemic.
Broader measures are already being put in place, such as lockdowns, border control, handwashing stations and establishment of isolation centres.
However, we must also consider the ways in which these stringent actions halt or slow down different essential aspects of a functional society, and how to ameliorate the effects on specific demographics, including schoolchildren, the sick and the poor.
This month on #TheAwakening, we focus on “Pulling through the Pandemic”, discussing the challenges that young people and other members of society will face while we try to survive this trying period, and how government and other relevant bodies can work to solve these challenges.
On this week’s Awakening broadcast, we will look at the effects of the lockdown on education and possible alternatives to classroom learning.

Our guest speaker for today is Chidinma Ibemere, award-winning teacher and youth champion for the ONE Campaign
