Blue checks scolding Bernie for not dropping out, answer these simple questions:
How does Bernie staying in help Trump and/or hurt Biden?

You repeat these talking points with no clue why you’re repeating them. Think about it, get back to me. Include stats to back up your claim.

Here’s my response:
Contentious primaries help build better candidates for the general. Having debates, working for votes, grabbing media attention all HELP the nominee, not hurt.
There is zero evidence Sanders timeline for dropping out hurt HRC in 2016. Zero.

This is a distraction from all the substantive reasons Dems lost 2016. They’ll always blame progressives. But it’s not true.
Bernie isn’t even criticizing Biden like any other opponent would. But Trump will. Remember that. Biden needs practice defending himself and his record...

His campaign tries to hide him as much as possible, that ain’t gonna work in the general.
The media tries to help him by ignoring his obvious cognitive decline, sexual assault allegations, his incredibly problematic record. Trump will not. Won’t help him in the general.

If you really want Biden as your nominee to beat Trump, he needs to prove he’s up to the task. Part of that process is going up against a primary challenger, crafting positions to win the hearts and minds of voters, to keep attention on him and rev him up to garner enthusiasm

Bernie can drop out tomorrow and throw all his support behind Biden, but that alone is not enough. We’ll still end up with a flabby candidate too out-of-shape to beat the incumbent president.
Primaries are a crucible. The more contentious, the better the outcome in the general.

If anything, you should all be criticizing Bernie for not going at Biden even half as hard as Trump and the GOP will come the general election. That will help us beat Trump. Anointing another crappy centrist with historically low voter enthusiasm will not.

Either Biden withstands the substantive criticism of the Sanders campaign and comes out of it stronger and ready to fight Trump, or he’ll whiff and show us that he is incapable of winning the general election.
Either way, we have to sort this out NOW before it’s too late.
