Gilbert slowly wakes up. His first thought is Anne. She has always been in his mind, but the last 2 years she was the only thing on his mind. A lady of about 25 years old with black, curly hair came into his room and sat on his bed+
+ She smiled at him and leaned in to give him a hug. When she pulled back, there were tears in her eyes. Gilbert knew why. He was getting closer by the second to the end of his time alive. He was, in fact, 86. He looked at his granddaughter and smiled back at her +
+ The 2 years since Anne's death had been the worst of his life. He missed her every day. But she had lived a good, long life. He saw her in his grandkids. Especially Jem's daughter Anne. She may look like Gilbert, but she loved nature and could quote nearly every book +
+ She looked at Gilbert, who anybody could have seen was nearing the end, and whispered in his ear "tell her hi for me," before he closed his eyes and was gone from the world+
+ Gilbert slowly opened his eyes against the sunlight. All he saw was Anne's red hair. He got up and ran towards her, before they collapsed into the field, reunited at long last.
This isn't that great but here
