2/ Today, our first US front line ED MD, Dr. Frank Gabrin, died from #COVID19. He planned to go back to work when he recovered. It took only 5 days from the first sign of symptoms. Symptoms developed 9 days after he was forced to use the same mask for multiple shifts. @Yamiche

3/ He was told to self quarantine. He woke up this morning and could not breathe. In less than 2 hours he was gone. He never made it to a hospital. He died in his husband’s arms and he is now sick too. #getusppe.org @AyannaPressley @drjessigold @jack_turban @kari_jerge

4/ Today, the healthcare community chillingly realized that the vents we have been so concerned about, will not be helpful if we run out of the medications to sedate patients enough to tolerate a plastic tube down their throat for days. These meds are largely produced in #China.

5/ So, the front line healthcare professionals are not protected ( #getusPPE), short on tests, short on equipment (vents), and now short on essential meds. This is a national disgrace @realDonaldTrump. @choo_ek @Yamiche @DoctorYasmin @AlexAndersonMD

6/ Today, we have over 215k cases and 5k deaths. These are underestimated due to lack of testing. #WhiteHouse models predict the *best* case scenario is that we lose 100,000 to 200,000 Americans. For context, 116k American #soldiers died in all of WWI. @AyannaPressley @Yamiche

7/ Without social distancing (aka #stayhome) the #WhiteHouse estimates 1.5 million (population of #Philadelphia) to 2.3 million (population of #Houston) American deaths. Also for context, roughly 1,264,000 #American #soldiers have died in ALL of our nation's wars @Yamiche
