INTRODUCTION
With so many new fans entering the fandom, it's easy to take for granted that not everyone is current on the cartoonish antics, opinions, and attitudes of people who are determined to be associated with ARMYs despite having nothing good to say about us ever.
With so many new fans entering the fandom, it's easy to take for granted that not everyone is current on the cartoonish antics, opinions, and attitudes of people who are determined to be associated with ARMYs despite having nothing good to say about us ever.
And recently it's been especially noisy, to the point where some people found they couldn't enjoy a trip down memory lane in the form of an April Fool's joke of sorts.
I hate for people to be confused about and hold onto things that don't make sense, so I'm going to-

address a few myths with this thread! 
MYTH #1 - "BTS IS COMPETITING WITH [INSERT RANDOM GROUP]"
If that chart is somehow representative of a competition, then there should be towels flying into the ring from all directions.
BTS will go down a having one of the best debut weeks of 2020 in AMERICA, after charting their album all over the world. And they did so without radio, without bundles, and without jumping through every conceivable hoop imaginable.
Nowhere, not even in the Twilight Zone, would this statement mean that they're competing with people that the average non-K-pop fan ever heard of and it's getting to the point where BTS sucks all of the promotional air out of the room be in America or Korea.
While others must pay their companies money when they bundle and so are losing cash, BTS is collecting on WHOLE ALBUM sales and not pieces of a penny per stream. BTS is winning with their hands tied behind their back in Trump's America.

MYTH #2 - ARMYS MUST LIVE IN CONSTANT FEAR OF ANTIS BECAUSE THEY ARE SOMEHOW IN CONTROL OF BTS'S SUCCESS!
I'll reiterate by saying that BTS's career has always been in the hands of their fandom, ARMY. As long as WE support BTS, buy their music, and continue to invest in them emotionally and financially (aka behave like a fandom), they're fine.
BTS is successful because they're talented artists and organically developed a healthy relationship with a global fandom.
Not sure why Scooby-Doo villain of the week mofos can't seem to grasp this and apply it to their alleged faves.

MYTH #3 - "BTS NEEDS TO FALL FOR MY FAVES TO SUCCEED SO I'LL JUST KEEP HOLDING MY BREATH AND WAIT FOR THEM TO FAIL OR GO AWAY!"

I'm going to say something so controversial, it might burn the top layer of brain matter off the heads of some people.

BTS is a history-making, record-breaking group who have done what nobody else has been able to do in terms of coming from the very bottom, without selling out as artists and people and while promoting their Korean heritage AND singing in their native language.
These are not the shoes that people's faves will magically fill should BTS go on hiatus, retire, etc. Theirs is a particular vacuum. One that will not be filled by industry puppets, scheming record execs, or people who probably should be tried for embezzlement and other crimes.
If there's no demand for a group to the point where their own so-called fans have to be argued with in order to get them to stream or spend money, then there is simply no way in hell they're going to breathe near BTS's toenails, let alone the summit.
CONCLUSION
There are more things I could say, but I ran out of stick figure drawings.
These are a few of the myths I see that people continue to abide by. They're garbage, don't believe them. Just block and ignore people.
