And also like... I think cottage core people should be really careful not to adopt tradwife type aesthetics bc I've been seeing both terfs and tradcaths use the cottage core tag on Twitter to push sneakily push their misogyny into sapphic spaces. So. Just be careful I guess

As someone who wishes with all their heart that they could live in The Shire, I truly understand the appeal of the cottage core movement but also so much of it comes way too close to fetishising whiteness/white centered nostalgia in a way that makes me deeply uncomfortable

I'm not saying the movement is inherently bad/bigoted at all! but just be careful not to replicate harmful shit. Also pls be aware of the ways in which your little house on the prairie esque farming fantasies might replicate settler-colonialism if you live on stolen native land
