You remember that tiger walking in record books about which I keep sharing. He has now covered 3000 Kms & just don’t want to stop. Till he gets a suitable mate. Crossing canals, roads, fields & no conflict. While we are in lockdown he is seting new life goals. Monitored.

My update from last year when je crossed 1000 kms. That time people were not sure what he was looking for. Probable were territory, mate or food. He walk in night & rest in daytime to avoid conflict. No major incidents with human are recorded. 2/n

Update when he crossed 2000 Kms. Till then experts were sure that he is looking for a mate otherwise he could have settled somewhere. He crossed 7 districts in about 1.2 years. Monitored by VHF radio telemetry.

The collar has been dropped now. Till then in 13 months tiger has covered 3017 kms. Highest journey ever recorded by a tiger. It also shows the importance of corridors for the wild animals.

He has been nicknamed as ‘Walker’ now.
