I keep thinking back to the talk I attended with women who'd organized community response to AIDS at the height of the crisis in DC, and getting...disheartened. Because the thing about community response is that it involves being a community. We are so splintered now
Can't get sewing bees together to sew masks. Can't get groups together to make meals for sick people, or do their housework for them, or watch their kids in big groups so they can get a rest. Can't take care of your sick friends and neighbors
