To continue with my reviews. I am here to talk about one of my favorite films of 2019. The Rise of Skywalker is a phenomenal sendoff to a series that's very close to my heart, and it is not only a phenomenal finale to the Skywalker saga, but the greatest Star Wars film ever made.
This day of all days has had me reflecting on what i love, and I love this film, down to my very core. I watched it multiple times while working at the El Cap, when it was there, and I gotta say I fell in love every time.
Whether it was the phenomenal screenwriting or the masterful use of its lore to create an epic story that truly had the characters explore the mythos of the story, the incredible visuals and sound design, or the heart pounding action sequences, this film is a masterpiece.
Like when Harrison Ford came back for another pay- I mean for a heart wrenching scene with Kylo Ren shows that the completely masterful storytelling at work, developing the characters in new ways that we have never seen before.
Oh and don't even get me started on Carrie Fisher, may she rest in peace, was expertly put into the film. I couldn't even tell that the footage was shot before hand, it just fit seamlessly into the film, like if it belonged there. Truly a miracle.
And the way the plot works out and the overall pace of the film. I could've sworn this film was made by Martin Scorcese or Quentin Tarantino, because the film did not feel it's 2 and half hour run time at all. Masterful work, especially in the structural department.
The returning cast is also great, Daisy Ripley is phenomenal, John the Boyega gives is heart out for Finn, Po - !
Not to mention the expert performances of Billy D Williams and Ian McDiarmid in the best version of their respective roles. Chills.

Overall this is the essential Star Wars film, and helps cement the ST and Disney Star Wars as the logical step forward and evolution that this series needed after the PT. I love this film so much, I made an April fool of myself, to try and write something nice about this trash.
