I always wonder how long it'll be until be until I can say, "Yeah, Comey really fucked us in '16" without being being told that what *really* happened is that Hillary didn't reach out to enough black/white/young/old/rural/urban/men/women, specifically in X or Y district. /1
Because one of those is totally the thing that happened according to all people who worked for Obama in '08 or '12 or WJC in '92 and '96. Mrs. White (or Black or Hispanic, depending) always killed Hillary in the Ballroom (or another room) with a rope (or some other instrument)./2
None of the players involved were named "Senator Sanders" or "Director Comey", and nothing ever took place in the "Senate Chamber" room and "a letter" can never be introduced as an instrument of murder. /3
(But, in reality, it was really Jim Comey's fault--not just because of the letter, but because of his stupid ass July news conference where he spent 30 minutes editorializing on something he knew no one could every successfully indict on.) /4
(Really, I felt sick about it. Not just because it was about HRC, but because it was about her subordinates too. He made damning comments about all while still saying, "But we're not bringing them to court.") /5
(That's... not what FBI directors or any other investigators do. They investigate. If there are supposedly indictable charges, an AG or a DA, depending on jurisdiction, convenes a grand jury or asks for a preliminary hearing. Tarring and feathering isn't the FBI's job) /6
I don't think this was as nefarious as some people do. I think Comey had assumed Clinton would win and wanted to *appear* unbiased. He'd also assumed guilt. Him not being a supporter himself gave him more incentive to not appear as such (though it revealed his bias even more). /7
