I think once I get my daughter to bed I’m going to drink a bunch of wine and go through baseball cards for a few hours.

(If you’re into that sort of thing)
Ok. I'm here. Drinking my favorite cab, listening to 90s music and perusing baseball cards from the same decade. Quarantine isn't so bad, tbh.
We’ll start with a 9 blocker of the no doubt coolest player of the decade. I’ve worn the jersey #5 in every sport I’ve ever played because of @RonGantFOX5. Absolute badass.
I probably own at least 200 Ron Gant baseball cards alone.
I got to meet @RonGantFOX5 probably ~15 years ago when he was doing color commentary for @Braves games. Somehow finagled my way into the booth with him pre-game and the game ended up getting rained out. Got to chat with him for close to an hour during the delay. Life highlight.
Next is a 9 blocker of Greg Maddux. A true master on the mound whose pinpoint control and ability to field his position will never be replicated. Once threw a 76 pitch complete game. His circle changeup was the best the game will ever see.
Most electric athlete of the decade was @DeionSanders and it wasn’t that close. The @30for30 about him playing a NFL game in between 2 postseason MLB games is epic. So fun to watch (and still is).
Sweetest swing the game of baseball will ever see. Griffey’s home run follow through/bat drop defined the decade. Would have challenged Aaron’s record HR if he could have stayed healthy.
Steroids or not, he was an all around stud before he turned into a beefy pull-only power hitter. Had five 30/30 seasons and two more that ended with 29 SBs well before his 73 HR season in 2001. Barry Bonds is a badass ball player name. Also the Kanye song ‘Barry Bonds’ is #good.
This before and after is pretty wild though.
The Big Hurt ( @TheBigHurt_35) was a masher. A massive human who, to my knowledge, was never implicated in any way for steroids and actually spoke up on the topic. Drew an insane amount of walks resulting in a .419 career OBP.
(I need another wine refill)
Kirby Puckett did not look like an athlete but he was a crazy good pure hitter in his day. Was forced to retire early due to loss of vision in one eye and died way too young. Won a World Series in 1991 with the help of cheating Kent Hrbek.
Trusted coronavirus expert of our current president. This was @AROD before the steroids. Clearly was preparing for his current career in the broadcast booth from an early age.
Subject of some upcoming ESPN documentary. Former baseball (and basketball) player, Michael Jordan ( @Jumpman23). You may have heard of him.
I could do this for days, guys.

And I probably will.

But that's all for tonight. My wife's virtual book club just ended so I'm going to go hang out with an actual live person.

To Be Continued.
