Many cats live entirely indoors so it’s up to their owners to provide an interesting environment for them to explore. Some enriching features you may wish to include are; places to climb upon, cosy nooks to hide in, appropriate items to scratch, and spots to sit by the window.
These don’t need to be fancy or expense designs, you can use cardboard boxes for hiding spots or even leave space behind the books on your bookshelf. A blanket on the back of the sofa is a simple cat perch.
Scratching posts can be homemade or purchased. Many scratching posts even provide perches for cats to climb upon and nooks to hide in.
A rubber-backed mat on a wide window sill or shelf near the window can provide an excellent spot for a cat to watch birds, squirrels, or people go by. This is often referred to as “Cat TV” and can provide hours of entertainment.
For additional enjoyment, you could open the window a crack (just a little, not enough that the cat could get out) to let in the sounds and smells of outside.
Where is your cat’s favourite place in the house?

Hobbes like to be right in the middle of whatever his human is doing. 🤣
