continuing to get criticism for being upset at my smug camper's behavior!

i do have a therapist, thanks! and having boundaries and recognizing that i don't have to tolerate creepy behavior is a sign that the therapy is working!

isn't it something that, as always, there are more consequences for talking about being bothered by creepy behavior than for the problematic behavior itself!
[cw: harassment]

just got told that quarantine must have affected my brain for me to be this upset about it. đŸ€” no, i would not have tolerated my smug villager before quarantine either, i assure you
[cw: harassment]

i will never understand people i guess? i never told anyone they should stop playing, or that they were bad if they didn't agree with me. i just talked about what was upsetting to me, on my own twitter feed, but ppl feel the need to reply to insult me about it?
keep insulting me if you want and if it satisfies some need inside of you to belittle other people! it'll just let me know who to block 🙃
[cw: harassment]

it is in fact possible for me to recognize that there's a global pandemic, that i'm lucky to be safe, healthy, and with a fully stocked fridge, and not want to be flirted with by my animal crossing villager! brains are capable of that.
[cw: harassment]

can an cartoon animal reading from a script be rude, not take no for an answer, and remind me of creepy people who won't leave me alone at bus stops? yes. i'm confused why them being cartoon animal makes that impossible?
also, the point of therapy isn't to feel less upset about everything!
[cw: harassment]

it seems ppl think there's harm being done by me complaining that my camper made me feel uncomfortable (or why would there be such a strong response?) do they think me saying that my camper reminding me of bus stop harassment desensitizes ppl to irl harassment?
[cw: harassment]

i for one would like to argue the opposite, that the more smaller forms of harassment that are casually in media, the more we're desensitized to actual irl harassment
[cw: harassment]

ppl telling me that my mentions are this way bc i'm overreacting & making a big deal of a cartoon animal: if that were the case, whenever i tweet about IRL sexual harassment, people would be empathetic bc it's real right? LMAO WRONG
[cw: harassment]

i shared screenshots of my mentions bc in this case, this is what happened when i dared to be uncomfortable at a cartoon animal whose dialogue reminded me of a creepy bus stop person but when i tweet about that happening IRL, i get the exact kind of mentions
[cw: harassment]

anyway, i'll stop sharing these screenshots bc, you get the point. just remember the cost to ppl who report discomfort whenever you're telling people that they should have reported uncomfortable behavior
