I consider our style of living here, very wasteful. Some of us live to impress. In some cases our poverty is self brought.

A younger cousin of mine, yrs back had finished learning a trade. He needed funds to buy tools. While we were lookn for those funds,he had a “freedom” party.
The cost of the party would have bought him two set of tools. He never did practise his trade.

A couple I know will put their kids in a school, owe fees and then change schools after. I presume their kids are in school 4 now. Since school owners in Abuja are yet to undertake due
diligence when kids switch, they get the first term fees and that’s all. This couple do go on vacations regularly.

In Isale Eko, it’s not uncommon to see those that have just had a super ceremony to bury their mom or dad, at the end of their rope financially.
They then become nuisances on friends.

I see young women with iPhone 11 pro max that then need someone to pay their school fees.

The reason many have numerous kids here is because a child is not an economic decision. They believe that the divine will help them raise their kids
and or depend on family.

We have to change some of our habits. The wasteful part and d dependency part. Now things can go wrong for anyone, but some just do not care. Live for today or live to impress.

Same people will live in a high flying resident estate, and will only pay...
dues whn they stick their names at d entrance. They just might hv bought d latest car.

We have an attitude problem. It is this same lot that get into govt& then convert all their official cars to their own after 2yrs of service.

It is a system thing. A mindset!
