"U.S. is moving naval ships toward Venezuela as it enhances counter-narcotic operations in the Caribbean following a U.S. drug indictment against Nicolás Maduro"

First a made-up indictment is accepted by the media, and then bellicose muscle flexing seems absolutely natural
"[...]Maduro steps up attacks on his US-backed rival, Juan Guaidó. Maduro’s chief prosecutor ordered him to provide testimony"

Weapons were seized in Colombia, an ex-general said they were part of a coup attempt organized w/ Guaido. Yet summoning him for questions is an "attack"
"[Maduro] also points out that the vast majority of cocaine leaves South America from Colombia, a staunch U.S. ally."

This one takes the trophy: spinning something that every US Agency knows as "Maduro says". Cocaine is almost exclusively produced and shipped from Colombia
"the sending of ships fits into a longstanding call by the U.S. SouthCom for additional assets to combat growing antinarcotics and other threats in the hemisphere."

How's that working out? Cocaine production is as high as ever in Colombia. Maybe just search for it in Wall St?
"In January, another Navy vessel, the USS Detroit, conducted a freedom of navigation operation off the coast of Venezuela in a show of pressure against Maduro."

Nothing as natural as good ol' imperialism. How is a warship sailing near Venezuela a "freedom of navigation op"?
