Current Stan Culture would have never survived the It Girl War of the Early 2000’s. A thread.

This all started with 2/3’s of Disney’s original Holy Trinity. Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan.

Hilary Duff Met Aaron Carter on the set of Lizzie McGuire and dated him for roughly a year and a half.

They broke up and Lindsay was Aaron’s rebound. He broke up with her after a couple of months and got back with Hilary.

Casualty Number 1: Aaron Carter’s career. At least he still has his OnlyFans.

Lindsay was PISSED. The two queens started doing red carpet battles by showing up to each other’s movie premiers to try and take the attention away from each other.

THEN Chad Michael Murray (Lindsay’s costar in Freaky Friday) got cast as Hilary Duff’s costar in A Cinderella Story.

Lindsay allegedly called CMM and talked shit about Hilary. Hilary then drops the main single from the soundtrack which was just a further dig at Lindsay.

Hilary Duff wrote this little bop about Lilo.

Moving on. So Barbie makes a Bratz knock off line of dolls and Lindsay becomes a Barbie. She also stars in the movie that goes with the line.

A year later Hilary and Haylie get a deal to have Mattel dolls made of them and they would be designing outfits for Barbie. Lindsay’s one off doll was soon forgotten while Hilary had an entire line.

Also let’s just appreciate the Hilary Duff doll glow up. Thanks Mattel!

Now in the meantime, Lindsay started joining the It-Girl Party Scene. Back in the day this was one of the main ways to get photographed by paparazzi and remain relevant.

Lindsay’s peers at the time were Paris, Nicole, Ashlee and Britney. There were some D-List girls too but they aren’t relevant to the story.

Now here’s where the timeline gets messy so don’t read this as if it happened in the exact order.

Hilary Duff was dating Joel Madden for fourish years. They broke up and he started dating Nicole Richie.

Hilary dropped the diss track “Gypsy Woman” about Nicole. The song “Play With Fire” about Joel and basically half of the songs on her Dignity album about Paris, Lindsay and Nicole.

Simultaneously. Paris and Haylie Duff realized they had both recorded the song “Screwed”. It was meant to be Haylie’s debut single but Paris’ version “mysteriously” got leaked first so Paris ended up releasing it on her album. Haylie’s album never came.

So since both sisters were feuding with the Simple Life stars, they decide to do a movie mocking them called “Material Girls”.

Nicole and Paris famously feuded but the general public never knew what for sure caused the riff. Allegedly, Nicole played Paris’ sex tape at a party or a club but that’s not confirmed. They ended up filming the Simple Life 4 separately.

Paris dropped the song “Jealousy” about Nicole. Nicole dropped a cover of LFO’s song “Dandelion” about Paris on her MySpace Music page.

Paris attempted to replace Nicole on the Simple Life with Kimberly Stewart and when that didn’t happen, Paris created a new show. My New BFF

SO. Wilmer Valderrama started dating Lindsay Lohan. When they broke up, Wilmer was rumored to be dating Ashlee Simpson.

Lindsay got pissed and dropped the single “First” about Ashlee and Wilmer.

Three months later, Ashlee drops the single “Boyfriend” as a diss track about Lindsay. She completely copies the “First” music video and even goes back to blonde hair for this entire era.

Ashlee and Jessica were pissed but went to Jimmy Fallon’s party where Lindsay later showed up at. When Lindsay got there Jessica allegedly lunged at Lilo and they had to be separated by security.

Let’s all take a moment to appreciate Jessica Simpson for being the only one willing to throw hands.

Since no one was really directly coming for her

P!nk was fed up with the current face of young Hollywood and dropped “Stupid Girls” where she parodied EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM in her music video.

Britney Spear was in the direct line of fire yet wasn’t involved in ANY feud. And all the girls involved still talk highly of Britney.

Britney was truly in the corner saying “Gimmie More Y’all”.

Since our girl Brit Brit didn’t really have beef, here’s a video of her calling Justin Timberlake’s album “pussified”.

Our Pop It Girls from the early 2000’s were willing to throw hands, use men as pawns, and take their feuds to music, television shows, the Barbie aisle, music videos and entire movies. And we stanned EVERY SINGLE MINUTE.
