Today Red Watch were contacted by a concerned family on the patch requesting a home fire safety check so their very unwell son who needs medical oxygen could be released from hospital in order to free up some beds at the Children’s Hospital. 1/2
After attending a flat fire, we decontaminated ourselves & donned the appropriate PPE & headed over to the property, where we fitted 2 new smoke alarms, along with giving the relevant fire safety information, including info relating to the added risk of oxygen in the home. 2/3
We just wanted the general public to know that whilst we’re doing our best to keep contact to a minimum, we are still here to help in any way we can, whether that be in urgent cases such as this, via phone for general advice, or just being ready to tackle any emergency. 3/4
We’re following government guidance as best we can, however we are first and foremost here to protect the lives of others, so will do our best to be available for emergencies, urgent prevention needs & general advice should you need it. Stay safe everyone! #StayInside #SaveLives
