LIFE HACK: when someone says they're struggling right now you do not have to point out that other people have it worse.
It's possible to keep perspective & recognise that some have much more privilege in this situation than others WITHOUT belittling how difficult this is for everyone.
Recognise the people who have it especially hard right now, but don't use them as a way to make other people feel shit.
Saying "I'm finding this hard" isn't the same thing as saying "I'm finding this harder than anyone else in the WORLD and I deserve the MOST recognition". It's just saying this is fucking hard, because it is.
If someone tells you they're struggling, hear them out. Validate their feelings. Empathise. Don't tell them it could be worse. This is not the trauma olympics - people are entitled to feel how they feel.
