#1 - the fashion industry emits more carbon annually than international flights and shipping combined

#2- Globally, we now consume around 80 billion new pieces of clothing every year. This is a 400% increase compared to two decades ago.

#3 - The amount of water needed to produce one kilogram of cotton (a single t-shirt and pair of jeans) is 20,000 litres !

#4- it’s been estimated that only 10% of the clothes people donate to thrift stores or charities get sold, the rest goes to landfill (this gets mentioned in our recent article! link in bio)
#5- Fast fashion items are worn an average of 5 times and keep for only 35 days! They produce over 400% more carbon per item than clothing worn 50 times and kept for a full year
