Took a break from all the sh*tty news. Been reading articles on how the happiest countries in the world have been doing amidst the pandemic.. Lol

Okay so I did not reveal what I found out when I did this boredom-induced research. I've always admired how happy and peacful Nordic countries which made me curious what they have been doing against covid19..

Well, I stopped googling with confusion as I read an article that Sweden was the only nordic country that did not implement lockdowns. For the first time the nordics were not united in their response to the pandemic.

I thought, "okay maybe swedish people are that responsible and disciplined enough for this to work out. We'll see."

So last week, what got me more shocked and confused was when I found out that the Sweden's epidemiologist does not believe lockdowns are an effective response to this pandemic and has been saying it has been effective.

This was however opposed by the news articles I've read that reported Sweden's death rate is highest among all nordic countries and is competing with that of USA's.

Furthermore, these are the covid19 statistics of the nordic countries:

Denmark:

Even though Sweden's population is almost double of each population of Norway, Denmark and Finland, Sweden's numbers are still higher.

Interestingly, among the Nordic countries, Sweden has the only male prime minister.
