And so it begins...our first baby raccoons are here. We will share their story later today.

These one week old baby raccoons were found by a shed, out in the open, crying out for their mother. The finder waited all day to see if mom would return for them but she did not. Babies this young can not go very long without mom & can not maintain their body heat on their own..
They were cold and dehydrated. We don’t know what happened to mom or why she didn’t return for them. All we can say is these little orphans are safe with us now. They will be kept warm, bottle fed, dewormed, vaccinated....
and when they are ready...they will be set free. We are excited to be part of their journey!
Our newest baby raccoons are doing wonderful and have grown quite fond of their bottles.

The group of four gained two siblings!
They are big enough to move to the "little outdoor" raccoon cage and stay there overnight. They are being weaned off bottles and we have introduced solid foods
