Step #1 of project overkill.

Paper prep for the final version of Quetzalcoatlus.

Seemed fitting to go big for such a giant. 125×125 cm square.

Unfortunately, this is all I could do today, I ran out of glue and aluminum foil, hopefully I can make a resupply run tomorrow.
Glue sticks are hard to come by now. I won't be able to make sandwich paper until further notice.

This is my progress so far. I made the original sheet a slight rectangle and I extended the shorter side by grafting some extra paper onto it rather than cutting off the excess.
Completely forgot to mention that the green thing there is my folding mat which I use for most of my other folding.

This sheet ended up being a 132×132 cm square, which means the diagonal of it is about 6'1", which is longer than I am tall. 😂
Alright. Progress is slow, but I am slowly moving forward. I have never folded anything from such a large paper before. This is definitely a two person job. 😭 All the pleats for the back toes are in place as well, they are just not visible in the picture. 😅
Update #5 on #ProjectOverkill:
Both sets of wing fingers are done.
One eternity later I have enough creases in the right places to start collapsing the base. Finally some visible progress can happen.

Next step is folding the bottom corner away and collapsing the rest as a preliminary base.
Rearranging the center point of the base here.
This is the final update for today. Sorry for the big skip ahead with the last photo, I wanted to get as much folding done as I could and the large sheet was really hard to work with, I will make a smaller stand in tomorrow and fill in the hole in the sequence that way. #origami
